Al Fasoldt suggested I write to you reqesting information. I have a big problem with my kids and win98. They only use the PC for browsing, IM and games but there has never been a link they have not felt compelled to click. I have spent hours cleaning up spyware, etc. Because the PCs are win98, I cannot limit installs. What version of Linus would be best in these circumstances. All of them play games on either aol or popcap.com, use email, browse to a limited extent and IM. Any ideas or suggestions? Any info would be appreciated.

I would reccomend a linux distro such as gentoo that can live off a live cd. That way you could still have access to windows for your needs but have the kids boot to linux for their surfing and web based games. Although there is no AOL client available for linux that I am aware of. Since everything is run off a cd you dont have to worry about maintance and the state will be same everytime you boot of of it.

Oh, and Kopete will also handle ICQ, and various other IM accounts. Just tell it what service you want to use, enter your username and password, and connect.
