I have a sitewide email server (qmail running on Mandrake 9) and I want to set up Spamassassin as a spam filter, and I have installed it via the CPAN downloadable modules, and can run spamd, but I do not know how to attach spamassassin to qmail. I have seen a few examples of it being invoked by the mailing queues, but I would prefer to check only incoming messages to reduce load on the server. Any info on the procedure is appreciated. |

I looked into setting up qmail in this way many months ago with no luck. From what I could find the only ways to integrate SA was after the message was accepted in the main queue or from a user level procmail script. I ended up going with Exim and SA-exim because it didnt almost everything I needed and I like the exim configs much better that Qmail's. Sean |

Hmm I don't think the boss wants to switch email servers, especially since everything is running smoothly otherwise. |

There are lots of resources on the web - try a google search of: qmail with spamassassin It is common for spamassassin to run with qmail and we use it for multiple mail servers serving various domains. We also use it in combination with Clam Antivirus.
