Please help!!!I am trying to install SUSE 10 on my HPze4125 notebook. 653/1.3ghz, AMD Athlon 1600+. This is a new hard drive with the recovery XP OS installed on it. When rebooting with the SUSE cd in the drive, I get the welcome screen for SUSE but cannot move on. Simply freezes there. I set up an account with Novell for the support. They told me to disable the ACPI, can't seem to find the option in BIOS or anywhere for that. Can't even update my BIOS from Hp. They then said to install it in safe mode, not sure how to do that. Can someone help? I would love to learn Linux. Thanks in advance

When I run into a "brick wall" like this, I try a differant Linux version. Have you tried Mepis or Mandriva yet? Notebooks can be very difficult to configure and with Mandriva, I just Google for rpm's! The other option would be to go to the January Install Fest if your heart is set on SUSE. I tried SUSE with a Dell Inspiron and never made it through the install process. Good luck!
