Hi Lou:

I'm a bit confused..are you asking whether or not you can run both OS's
simultaneously and create a virtual network between the two?

Have a look at http://www.vmware.com
http://www.trelos.com

Both products are virtual machines. I'll let you read the whitepapers at their
websites to determine which is best suited for your needs. If going with
vmware my personal preference would be for the Linux version that allows Win
as a guest OS--not the reverse.

The trelos product (Win4Lin) is only available as a Linux version that allows
a guest Win OS.

As far as your question about hardware goes--I do not know of a site that
cross lists and makes a Win/Lin comparison. But why would one need that?
The problem is with Win hardware working under Linux. For that, check LHD (the
Linux Hardware Database.
