It's well known that web pages with complicated Java and JavaScript
can cause Netscape to hang. I've had many problems with pages from,,, etc. That's why I normally run with
Java and JavaScript turned off, which is becoming increasingly
difficult to do. This happens to me with Navigator 4.51 in Freebsd,
so the problem isn't limited to Linux.

I wouldn't interpret Netscape crashing as meaning anything more than
Netscape is a large, complicated program that sometimes crashes. Now,
if you want a good, all-around stress test, I recommend a continuous
loop of kernel builds for 2-3 days. Make sure the CPU is well-cooled.
