Hello All:

It was a pleasure to meet all who were in attendance at tonight's meeting.

Thanks also to Scott Brady for his presentation on SAMBA, as well as to those
who helped me get to and from the meeting.

As Jym mentioned, I will be doing a presentation on DHCP/Cable Modems and
Roadrunner at the November meeting. While I had initially planned to do it
tonight, I felt it was too RedHat/Mandrake oriented. So...I'd be interested in
knowing what distros in particular SLUG users are running. In this way I'll be
able to install and test DHCP and a Roadrunner connection in each of them--or
at least try. I'm really only looking for feedback on the "major"
distros--Slackware, SuSe, Corel. Caldera etc.

I noticed there were a few newbies in attendance tonight. As always, feel free
to contact me via e-mail if you're stuck or have a question. It's also OK to
call me on the geekline at 315 449 9937 Sun-Thurs from 7:00 to 10:00 PM; Fri &
Sat OK until Midnight. It's a very tough first few months as a newbie,
especially as meetings are only monthly. Don't worry about asking a "stupid"
question. When I know the answer, It's likely because I made a stupid mistake
at one time or another. I don't have all the answers, or anything close to it,
but can point you in the right direction if I don't have the answer.

Good Luck!
