Start by trying to compile the "hello, world" program, that will tell
you if the C compiler is installed. Also, Mandrake uses RPM, so you
can use "rpm -qa" to list what packages are installed, look for gcc.

I looks like you're missing some development packages. You'll
probably need to add these with something like this (your version
numbers may be different).

# mount /mnt/cdrom
# cd /mnt/cdrom/Mandrake/RPMS
# rpm -U autoconf-2.14.1-9mdk.noarch.rpm
