I had RoadRunner installed a few months ago and had no trouble getting my
Linux machines talking to it, apart from a newbie-level issue with DNS that
was solved for me on this list (thanks again!). I needed no login script.

You *will* have to figure out how to set up DHCP, which I didn't have to do
since the machine that interacts with my cable modem boots off a
single-floppy Linux distribution called FREESco, which handles DHCP itself.
But that's the only thing that comes to mind, and I'm sure it's trivial to
figure out.
