What does fdisk report? What are the beginning and ending cylinder
numbers and partition types on the first disk and any other disk that
has Linux? Which partition is the root (/) partition for Linux? If
you can boot Linux, run "fdisk /dev/hda" and use "p" to print the
partition table and "q" to quit (being very careful to not change
anything). Also, what is in /etc/fstab and /etc/lilo.conf?

You do have Linux on its own partition, right? It's possible to run
Linux from inside Windows, but I don't like that (and am not familiar
with it).

I'm guessing LILO wasn't configured correctly, and hopefully the above
fdisk, fstab and lilo.conf will show the problem.
