Jamie,

Microsoft hid NetBEUI in Windows XP and does not tell users that it is not
installed so that Samba (which uses this connection protocol by default)
would not be able to connect; that makes Windows look good, I suppose, to a
Microsoft engineer. The NetBEUI installation software is literally hidden
away on the XP installation CD (if you in fact have one!) You can install it
from the CD. Samba will then work.

Search that CD. It's on there somewhere, maybe in a CAB file. Or check the
Microsoft Knowledge Base for XP NetBEUI.

Subject: Online Help

I have researched online help. I have taken many tutorials and I currently
have two system running different distros. I have been doing as much as I
can without assistance. I guess I just get too frustrated when I can't find
what I am lookig for online or in a book. It is not b/c the info isn't out
there, rather the way I am looking for it.

It has taken me 2 days to get samba configured, and I can only get it to run
with win9x not XP.
