Jim,

Sounds like unicode issues or keyboard mapping error. Perhaps your specific
install options or keyboard are not well tested against FC updates. This link
will hopefully show you some more clues about what your problem:

You can try using a different keyboard map that what you are using, (or a
different keyboard with the appropriate map)
Keyboard maps are "keyed" to certain keyboards.

Some apps have problems with unicode and some linux components, including
certain keyboard maps are not well tested with unicode also.

Hope this gets you closer to being a unicode and keyboard map expert!
