Author | Subject: Automounting a usb thumb drive |

![]() ![]() Original Poster: Percival Bragg I am a newbie to Linux and was at the last syrlug meeting for the first time. I have been able to install RH9 and even got the automounting of my usb thumb drive to work initially, but now it won't work anymore. Of course I have been playing around on the system so I might have unknowingly messed something up. This is what I would like to happen: My box has two usb ports and I would like to have a multi-card reader, dazzle, permanently mounted to one port and be able to mount a removeable thumb drive, Lexar, to the other port when needed. I need this functionality to automatically happen at bootup for the removeable drive to mount whenever it is attached and unmount when detached. This functionality should also happen whenever a card is inserted into either slot of the multi-card reader. It would also be great if in the the gui environment, gnome or kde, an icon would appear and disappear when the drives are mounted and unmounted. Any help would be appreciated. |
